About Faction Studio 1 A-Hall skis 2026

Limited to 150 pairs globally.

Alex Hall. He’s an Olympic gold medalist, style pioneer, and an American success story with roots in the Swiss Alps. Born in Alaska and raised in the Churfirsten range of St. Gallen, Alex shares a foundation with Faction that is grounded in the mountains of Switzerland, which led to his current status as one of freeskiing’s all-time greats.

Artist Jay Vaz drew inspiration from the natural rhythm of skiing itself to create this artwork on this limited-edition Studio 1. Organic markings and scanned analogue textures take shape in the spirit of A-Hall’s movements in his headline sequences. Stamped with an illustration of the mountains where Alex first learned to ski, this design pays tribute to snowy spaces that he owns on arrival.

The Studio 1 is a best-in-class freestyle ski designed specifically for terrain park enthusiasts. This twin-tip ski is the result of collaboration between our star-studded athlete roster and expert engineers, delivering precision performance with effortless style.

The Studio 1 is perfect for those who settle for nothing less than the “perfect shot” or flawless trick execution. It features a Poplar and Ash core with Carbon Stringers, providing the ideal balance of lightweight agility and rigid power. A carbon-rubber stomp pad under the binding area ensures durability during heavy landings, and its symmetrical shape allows for smooth switch skiing. Additionally, the 7mm XL sidewall offers exceptional edge hold and protects the wood core. Choose the Studio 1 for unmatched performance and style in the terrain park.

You'll love this ski if:

  • You want stability and durability for crushing the halfpipe
  • You love to ski backwards
  • You want a stiffer ski with carbon, for torsional strength without the bulk
  • You are the most dedicated to your craft, progression is everything

FEATURES

Symmetrical twin
Twin-tip shape with subtle tip and tail rocker combined with pronounced camber for precise control and reliable edge hold.

Poplar core
Durable, medium-weight wood with excellent flex and vibration absorption. Provides lively pop, stability, and strong edge grip both in the park and on the descent.

Carbon stringers
Unidirectional carbon strips integrated into the fiberglass add strength, stiffness, and stability along the full ski length without unnecessary weight.

Boat flex
Stiffer tips and tails paired with a softer midsection deliver high-speed stability, maximum pop, and powerful aerial performance.

Elliptical sidecut
Longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail allow quick pivots, smooth turn initiation, and versatile handling across conditions.

Carbon and rubber stomp pad
600mm carbon and rubber inlay strengthens the ski underfoot, improves vibration absorption, and protects the core for better stability and impact resistance.

Recycled materials
Production scraps from base, sidewall, and topsheet are recycled back into raw material, reducing carbon emissions while maintaining durability and quality.

XL 2.5mm edges
25% wider than the industry standard, these reinforced edges extend durability and lifespan under heavy use.

Full strength sidewall
Protective sidewall construction enhances edge hold and shields the core, edges, and topsheet from impacts and wear.

Anti-chip Micro Cap
Protective cap at the ski tips and tails reduces topsheet chipping and adds durability where the topsheet meets the sidewall.
