Skis K2 x Sean Pettit Mindbender 108 Ti Burst 2021
About K2 x Sean Pettit Mindbender 108 Ti Burst 2021 skis
When introducing the Mindbender collection in 2018, we made it a goal to convey our vision of freeriding through a cohesive product assortment. We knew that skiing cannot just be one thing. The word “Freeride” holds different meaning to skiers in Vermont, Whistler, Chamonix, and Niseko. We saw the necessity to move forward and continue to push skiing, and the gear built for it,to new levels.
So, we put our heads together to find a bit of that heritage flavor and called in the big dogs! Working alongside long-time Team rider Sean Pettit to bring this project to life, we looked to the iconic Merlin 7 from 1998 for a nod to the Salad Days. We wanted to move forward without losing sight of where we came from, and we’re pretty damn proud of the outcome. We proudly present the Mindbender 108Ti and Mindbender 130 Boot as envisioned by K2 and Sean Pettit.
Slap ‘em down and let 'er buck - the Mindbender 108Ti is meant to run. Utilizing our Titanal Y-Beam construction, this freak of a ski is meant to do one thing: mash. From deep pow to the chalky steeps, this beast is the big-mountain charger you’ve been waiting for. Toss in a relaxed turn radius and an even flex, and you’ll be wondering why it took you so long to hop onboard.
Skis with All-Terrain rocker have a gradual rise to the tip for great versatility in all conditions, with a short, low rise in the tail for added control variable snow.
Fir / Aspen Core
Fir for power and impact resistance, with lighter weight Aspen for a lively energetic feel.
K2’s Ti Y-Beam delivers precision in the forebody of the ski, power under foot and stability in the tail, all while maintaining the maneuverability and drift control needed for freeride ripping. Precision cut Titanal in a ‘Y’ shape alters the torsional stiffness of the ski while maintaining a balanced, even flex pattern that delivers power in a controlled manner throughout the length of the ski.
Power transfer is dramatically enhanced with the oversized ABS sidewalls that are laminated and pocketed within the wood core in the midbody of the ski. With the sidewall extending into the heart of the ski, the transmission of energy from skier to ski edge is direct and precise.
